House with a spiral porch in Singapore
Residential house “Trevo”, having a common wall with a neighboring building, was erected on the corner of the crossroads in Singapore, surrounded by old trees and sidewalks.
The architects at A D Lab Pte Ltd was guided by the idea to create such an object, which would be a natural extension of the green surroundings, despite the fact that for its construction they had to abandon most of the garden, who grew up in the area.
To create a light, delicate movement and yet maintain a sense of calm in the way they were allowed compact shape and a small yard provided the flow of light and air to the center of the house.
To compensate for the same remote site from the vegetation they decided with the help of long landscaped terrace. She is wrapped in a spiral around the building and extends into the lawn on the roof, and her lines clearly echo the directions of paths and pavements around the site.
In addition to the connection of architecture with the landscape, winding veranda also serves to exit the room to the open air, thus combining internal space of the house. In addition, it creates a special sense of community, as home owners are a family of several generations – has been a comfortable place for meetings and communication.
